Review:
Boston veteran Johnny A is another find for us here at GPF. Masterful & tasteful, Steve Vai recently added him to his roster, and that of course is all we need as an introduction.

Clearly inspired by Chet Atkins, Danny Gatton and Wes Montgomery, what we got here is the blues, rockabilly, contemporary, jazz and country, but above all, guitar playing that is fresh, technically adept, and moving.
His use of space, dynamics & restraint, combined with awesome tone and phrasing create moods that are at different times smoky, moody, pure, mellow, rough and raunchy.

Johnny A can masterfully blend any of the above styles on a single track to form his own, unique form of guitar expression; a guitar player that sounds like other great players, yet has a style that is all his own.

Johnny has total command of the of his instrument and demonstrates a flawless range of styles with tone, texture, rythmn, technique and taste.

A different kind of guitar hero.
